The good news is that Preston City Council is unhappy with the suggested access to the Stoney Butts and Dodney Drive sites and has gone back to the site owners to tell them this. “The chances of these developments taking place are minimal, but we must all stay alert for alternative, unacceptable proposals and be prepared to respond to those as well. Thank you to everyone who raised objections to these proposals. Working in partnership gets things done” says County Councillor C Bill Winlow .
We require a properly thought through strategic development plan with highways infrastructure in place before any developments start, because our current roads are already stretched to the limit. If further housing is actually built in Preston West the situation can only worsen and a properly planned western distributor road will be necessary to alleviate the problem. A period of public consultation to determine a route and to minimise disruption to local communities will be vital”.Leave a comment
