The Lib Dem campaign for the County Council elections was given an extra boost yesterday.
Jo Swinson, the MP for East Dunbartonshire and Minister for Employment Relations, Consumer and Postal Affairs wished the Preston Lib Dems all the best in their campaign. Leader of the Lib Dem group, Cllr Bill Winlow and Group Whip, Cllr Mark Jewell both met up with Jo outside County Hall.
County Councillors Mark Jewell and Bill Winlow discussed the £1.34 billion investment the coalition government are making in our post office network with Jo Swinson MP. ather than closing our post offices like past governments, Lib Dems in coalition are committed to investing in our post offices.
During the last Labour government Cllr Jewell collected over 1,350 petition signatures against Labour’s closure programme. The Labour candidate here and former MP for South Ribble was a part of the last Labour Government who closed so many of our Post Offices. Now with Lib Dems in government there will be NO post office closure programme this Parliament.
