There will be a temporary 30mph limit from A583/A584 (Blackpool Road/Freckleton Road) junction to the beginning of the Preston residential area at house 1002 on Blackpool Road from 11th March to 22nd April – this will faciltate site access during works to the canal adjacent to the A583.

Hi Bill, I understand the need for a speed limit when travelling Eastbound into Preston, but why is there any need for a 30mph limit when travelling Westbound i.e. away from Preston? And why does it need to extend so far beyond the Lea Gate hotel and garage other than to simplify things for the operators putting the signs out. Have you tried driving at 30 mph westbound along there? Please can you tell me who in the Lancashire traffic management organisation I should address these comments to?
