You may have noticed work taking place all round the Brickworks site, with tree clearing work being carried out ahead of the start of the nesting season. Also, the work involved in moving the Great Crested Newts to their new home is well underway. Both these phases should be completed by May and then, subject to all the necessary details being sorted out between the developers and the planner, extensive site preparation works should commence later in the year. With a fair wind, and everything going according to plan it is just possible that the store will open in late Spring 2015. Once that is open, then the way is clear for the rest of the development – that is, the other commercial premises, houses, and of course the new local nature reserve.
